I'm in the process of doing a ls1/4l80e swap on a92 mustang.

I'm about about to purchase all the gauges. When it comes to the speedo gauge, i'm asumming i need to get the electric one. Is there any way to make the mauanl gauge work, because its 100 bucks cheaper.

also if i do have to buy the electric guage, how would i hook it up??

Someones gotta be able to help me out...

 

I recall someone making a custom tailshaft for the 80e that uses th400 mechanical speedo parts. Of course the VSS still works too, so the computer knows where its at.

Try doing a google search for it.

 

I found the tail shafts your talking about. $500!!!!
So i'll spend the extra 100 and get the eletric speedo.

No I just need to figure out how to wire it up the the speed sensor.

Anyone know how?

Edit nevermind, the autometer speedos read directly off the vss.

 

so i just wire it up to the vss sensor?
