I'm going to get my trans rebuilt here in a couple of weeks and I'd like to know how the car would react with a fairly high stall? It's a 99 bird with nothing but gears a tuner and a drop in.

 

what do you consider a high stall.
buddy had a fuddle 4400 stall on his bolt on ls1 camaro. thing ripped!

 

It should perform awesome once tuned.

 

It wouldnt fall flat on its face?

 

maybe if you were revving past 6k. the stock stall stops making power after that.

 

No stalled car I know of falls on its face. maybe I dont understand the question

 

I was just under the impression that anything other then a stock tq

 

convertor and a stock motor wouldnt be a good match that's all

 

I had a 3500 stall in my STOCK T/A, That thing was bad *** before i f**ked up the transmission, But a 3500 stall aint that big?!?

 

good sized stall is one of the best first mods for an a4, definately the best seat of the pants feel mod at that level... not to mention necessary if you plan on running a decent sized cam!!!

I put a converter on mine before any real hp mods. It was a fantastic improvement.

 

Then go anywhere 3600-4000 and you will be glad you did!

 

Damn, I am running almost full bolt on and a 224 cam and a stock stall. If you say that a 32-3600 stall helps a stock engine I could only imagine.....OP good luck and get a cooler if you stall it

 

I had a 4000 vig in my car for about 10000 miles with about the same mods awesome setup just have some good traction available because mine would roll my dr at any given time until it broke the sunshell in the tranny hence the new flt level 5 trans for new set-up

 

Oh hell yes... you NEED a stall... you WANT a stall... make it your NEXT mod!

 

don't short yourself on the stall either, you'll regret it and will eventually want more. 3600-4000 and you'll hand down love it. i dd'd a 4000 for a while and gas mileage kind of sucked but man, when i hit it boy did it go.

 

Look into FTI for a converter. greg makes a great converter and is a hell of a helpful guy
