Default Interchangeable stalls

I looked through stickies but didn't see what I was searching for.

I'm looking to buy a used stall for my C5 and I was wondering if a stall from an F-body would work?

I went to Yank's website and this is what it has for C5 corvettes.

YANK Converters > Street > GM >
93-97 F-Body LT1 / C-5 Corvette / 94-96 Impala SS

So does this mean a stall from a 93-97 Fbody and 94-96 Impala will be the ony stalls that will work for a C5?
If GM runs a lot of the 4L60E why would any of them not work?

1998 up LS1 F-Body converters will not fit the C-5 but the 1997 down LT1 converter will.

GM changed the 4L60E input housing in the 98 F-Body when they went to the LS engine. This required a new style converter - commonly refereed to as the 300MM style 4L60E converter. Not sure why, but they decided to keep the LT style converter in the C5 Corvettes. The LT style 4L60E is refereed to as a 298MM. So the C5 uses an 4L60 LT style torque converter, even though it has a LS style engine. My guess is because it is a rear mount and the bean counters did not want to change it?? It does get tricky in the 05-06, that gets even more crazy. Good luck and if you have any more questions, please ask.
