Default 4l80 problems

hopefully you all out there can help with a big issue i am having with my 4l80.

Full manual valvebody
transbrake
hardened parts and nice internals. put it simple

problem we are having. transmission worked before and now all of a sudden the thing will lock the back tires up in 1st gear and will not move. i have tried to disconnect the transbrake wire making sure thats not it and still locked up. all other gears hold nice and work properly. the wierd thing is that 3 days ago it was all working. but before when i would downshift 2-1 at 10mph the thing would jerk and throw your head forward....

anyone out there have any ideas as tomrow i am pulling the pan and valvebody off

Who's brake is it? I would think that you have an issue with the direct clutch or intermediate circuit being applied when in the low range. Might be something as simple as a sticky solenoid or valve. I would also look for cross leaks by looking at the gasket impressions on both the case and valve body gaskets. Also in most cases you need to come to a complete stop when you using a manual valve body. That might be why you see what you have been seeing when going 10mph. I would get in contact with manufacturer of the brake to see if they have any other ideas for you to look at. Vince

You still have a multiple clutch apply and I would suspect there may be some issue with the brake perhaps. Whos the manufacturer of the brake? Whar shift kit if any is being used with it , More information will be really helpfull in helping us to help solve your issue.

mods that i have papers for are.

AFL limit valve which required the reaming kit

i dont know the manufacturer of the brake but have the instructions for the full manual and brake setup.

required second sealing rig from center support to be removed
removed direct clutch piston middle lip seal and drilled.050 hole from outsideedge

removed rear servo and took sealing rings off the accumulator piston.
tapped 2nd accumulator feed holes and plugged witih 1/16 pipe plugs in case
some milling and drilling on valvebody itself
plugged 4 holes for pressure diaphram with pipe plugs
took 3 checkballs out. i can post pictures of the instructions i have

i pressure tested the brake solenoid using shop air and its working.

You have a Trinity transbrake, it's JUNK.

Get another VB and start over.

I haven't seen any feedback on the TCI piece yet.

I have a transbrake that is based on the TransGo -3 kit. I have it in several cars. Most are working good, I have a couple that are giving me issues though, so I'm hesistant to say it's all good yet.

I assure you it is the Trinity kit that is causing your problems. It cost me thousands on a customer's transmission trying to correct the problems when Jim kept claiming they worked fine.

No reverse condition, reverse slamming in and out of gear, delayed reverse and brake engagment, locking up in gears, mismachined parts, ruined valve bodies, rebuilding a transmission 3 times because of burnt up bands and 3rd gear clutches, buying another vendors brake, etc.

There is a reason he is no longer sponsor here and it wasn't because his **** worked good (or at all).

There are others on here who have dealt with it as well.

Default anything on this one

soo i was wondering if anyone out there would recommend this setup http://www.compperformancegroupstore...ct_Code=274500

if not how much is a rossler setup with reverse pattern and would i have to take the complete trans apart again and put all the seals and everything back in that i had to remove and would i need to take all the plugs out of the case which was supposed to be installed.
