Default Vibrations in my transmission....

I asked a question a little while back about why my tranny is vibrating. It seems to have started when I got a poly transmission mount. My concern is that the car vibrates much worse in third gear(between 2000-3000 rpm is the worst) than any other gear. Am I about to lose a transmission or is that something that is common?

I have a TCI 3500, and have had my tranny go out twice in 5k miles. Everytime it gets ready to go it shakes the car where the TC is suppose to lock up.

You think there is a connection?

Alright, I have done some trouble shooting. Since I have posted I have replaced the universal joints and balanced the drive shaft. My car still vibrates in 3rd gear. The weird thing is it doesn't do it all of the time.(most of the time though) Does anyone have any idea why it is vibrating in 3rd only. Every other gear is fine. My car is a 99 Camaro SS A4, Hooker shorties, GMS MAF, HPP3, Yank converter(not sure of the stall), 2.5" Y-pipe with cats. Borla cat back, SLP lid, and shift kit. I would really be greatful if someone could steer me in the right direction.

If you bought the univeral trany mount for gms it is not the correct height anymore. Last year i picked one up and it gave me a bad vibration. I called the company they said they were going to come out with one just for our cars and to take that mount out immedatly.

Hope that help

Also I would check your tq arm mount bracket. I had a simular vibration and my braket was all stretched to ****

Your car vibrated in one gear and it was the torque arm? If I am understanding you correctly. What did you do to fix the problem?

Im actually having the problem right now for the 2nd time. I am not sure if its the amount of load in 3rd gear but It seems that Im getting the vibration in 3rd since i ripped my tq arm mount a bent the tq arm mount holder ( clam shell ) so the tq arm moves around which changes the pinion angle.

I sure hope one of us figures out what the problem is. If for some reason someone helps me figure it out I will pm you and tell you what they said.
