I got a 2003 5.3 engine. i will bolting up a th350 transmission. i currently have a 226/228 comp cam i just installed. what all parts would i need and u guys recommend. not sure what flexplate/flywheel to use.
I need a flywheel/flexplate. which one? 5.3 or 6.0? dish or flat?
Hughes adapter or gm spacer?
ls1 convertor or th350 convertor?
what size convertor for use with my cam?
Also do i really need the kickdown cable and if so has someone made a kit to hook it up to an ls1 intake/tb.?

I need a flywheel/flexplate. which one? 5.3 or 6.0? dish or flat? Dished most 6.0's and the LS1 F-body's came with them. Just slot the holes according to the converter.

Hughes adapter or gm spacer?

ls1 convertor or th350 convertor? Use a TH350 SBC converter and the HUGHES adapter.

what size convertor for use with my cam? I would stick with around a 2800-3000 depending on your cruise RPM at 60MPH being as you won't have lock-up and the slippage of cruising under stall speed will build a bit of heat.

Also do i really need the kickdown cable and if so has someone made a kit to hook it up to an ls1 intake/tb.? No You won't need to for a TH350.

As far as the cable is concerned. If you are running a Th350 that is using automatic shifts I feel a cable is needed. The reason being is it is used to control full throttle shift pressures and also you will not have a kick down/ downshift without moving the shifter. Just my 2 cents. Vince B

When manually shifting an automatic th350, will the full throttle shift pressures kick in without a cable?
