Question Which converter launches harder?

I have a 3200 Vigilante now and want to jump to a Yank SS4000. I know the Yank is a more efficient converter, but will it launch as hard as my Vigi does? Off of a roll?

Is the price difference worth it?

I would think so, but I'm not sure due to converter differences. Thanks.

I would go to the PS4200 as the next jump. Your 3200 performs like a 3800 so it makes sense to go to the 4200 and not a 4000. It will get you off the line harder and should increase your shift extension.

To answer your ?, I think the SS4000 would launch harder because of its 2.6STR, they SS4000 is a great converter but I would recommend something on the line of a PT4400 or a YTP4200. Good Luck

I agree that a real jump would be to go to a 4200 or higher converter. The Vig "3200" is actually a 3800 converter so all you would pick up with the SS4000 is a little bit harder launch and a little bit better efficiency...but not enough to make it worth your while, IMO.

I'd vote for either the PS4200 or the PT4200-4400 if a little more shift extension at the expense of some drivability sounds nice. These converters will give a nice performance increase over your current one.

Well, here's where I need some advice. I want a streetable converter that'll give me better topend and launch like a SOB. My vigi launches hard, but I want something that'll help me get into the 11s with bolt ons. Will I be able to hook a PT4400? I have full suspension and drag radials.

What are the differences between the PY, SS, and PT Yanks? What would you recommend? Thanks.

I think you should be able to hook the PT4400 but you will have to heat your tires very well(im guessing that they are either BFGs or Nittos). You might have to pedal just a little bit to hook well. On the differences about the PY, SS, and PT. PY=Very effective with nitrous, SS=Super Stock,21 blade stator, a well balanced race converter. PT=Pro Thruster, another great race converter.

If I were you I would go with the Pro Thruster Series, Ive heard good gains with this converter and no issues at all. Good Luck
