Default Help Converter Question

i have a 3200 lb full bolt on 2000 camaro ss. my setup is as following

fast 78 mm intake
pacesetter longtube headers
3.42 gears
lid. ported throttle body.
100 wet shot nitrous

the car dynoed 335 and 350 torque on motor (havent dynoed on spray yet) through a built 4l60e and i am wondering if i would benefit from a small converter( 2,500 - 3,000 stall ). this car is on a healthy diet down to 3200lbs and is a total street car daily driver. any EXPERIENCED input much appreciated. i am also considering going to a 3.73 or 4.10 rear gear. HELP!

Yes, you would benefit greatly from a converter.. Any stock a4 does..

No reason to waste your time or money with that small of a converter... The SMALLEST converter you should go with would be a 3200.. IMO anything below 3600 is a waste.
I have DD 4000+ converters going on 2 1/2 years now... By DD I mean DD, everyday rain or shine.

I'm going to assume you cut around 1.9 sixty times.. Put a GOOD converter in (VIG, yank, etc etc) and you will be cutting 1.5-1.6s.. Meaning almost .5 off your ETs..

Agreed...look into a 3600 at least. Yank makes the SS3600 which is great on the spray. You could even step it up to a SS4000 with a 100-shot. You should also check out Circle D. They make a quality converter as well. Chris is great to deal with and will certainly make you happy. Both of these companies will take good care of you....and the performance gains will shock you!

Yep its true, converters help even stock cars, and even more so when modded.

SS3600 all the way. Read my thread i just posted. The T/A is an everyday driver. A little annoying in traffic but other then that just the extra gas spent and the noise from the exhaust in the higher revs its completely driveable. Drives like stock once the converter locks. The smallest i would go with would be a 3200 but i think you will benefit more with a 3600.

I agree with a 3600. Im personally running a Performabuilt 4k stall, and daily drive my cammed, full bolt on car.
