Default Fti srls 3600 stall install.

Hey guys, I just purchased this 3600 stall. I was thinking about going with a
4k stall, but since I will be spraying, 3600 seems like the way to go. What all is needed to install this besides a tranny cooler? Anything need to be done with the flexplate? The tranny is a stock a4 w/ manual shift kit. I want to do everything possible to help it hold up! Thanks.

Sounds like you pretty much have everything I changed the fluid/filter and added a deep pan that holds a few extra quarts I don't think a deep pan is needed but I just did it anyway just incase. I also added a Trans Temp Gauge its always nice to know what temp its running at.

Drivability is fine for me but I think any stall this size is going to be a bit loose it takes about 2500 rpm's give or take to keep up with traffic. My tranny never gets any hotter than 180 in stop and go traffic in hot Florida summer heat but I have a 30,000 GVW cooler I love it but some people are more picky than others your 3600 should be little bit tighter though.

Im running the srls 3600 with a 24k gvw cooler I drive it on the street all day and take highway trips to wisconson. The low str (1.78) will produce less heat that a high str, but i believe if your wanting the best converter for n2o you should have went with a higher str.

well nevermind now, the guy is refunding my money lol. He sent it to fti for inspection and the drum is bent. I guess ill keep shoping around. I really want a good converter for street driving, not to worried about it being optimized for spray. This is a 100% street car, might see the track once a year.

I just recieved this converter today and the hub is bad where the pump broke in the trans. I am replacing the hub so therefore the unit will be like new. This is a fault of the trans pump not the converter but I am taking care of it for the customer as customer satisfaction is what we are about. I will extend the warranty to whomever purchases this converter.

King I can also design a converter for the jug for you.!!!

Have you by any chance taken the car to the track? I'm really curious as to the results. We have endless Yank and PI times, but very few have LS1s with FTI. I'm looking at a 3600 stall. I'm wondering how this compares to a Yank SS3600. BTW, I'm in Rockford, you go out to any local tracks? GLD or Byron?

FTI has a Hard Hit series of converters that have a higher STR similar to the Yank converters. FTI makes a quality product.
