th400 dipstick suggestions
I'm looking for a dipstick to go with my th400. My thing is that I need a dipstick that can be installed with the trans already bolted up. If you could post some installed pics that would be great along with the p/n and where you got it.
I know in the stickies it says the lokar 36", but then it says some contradicting info.

Search summit for "BTE locking dipstick" it's like $30 and it you can get it in with the tranny installed. I just did it wasn't the easiest thing I've ever done but could have been worse.
Bitch of it is though it sits at the back of the fuel rail. I had to use a pump with a hose to pump fluid in the tranny no way to get a funnel back there.

I don't at the moment but just imagine it being in the worst possible place and that's where it is.
It doesn't bother me though it actually was easy to fill I just stuck some plastic tubing down in there and pumped it in no problem. Checking the dipstick isn't a problem either.
Just make sure when you install it put the rubber gromet in the transmission then install the dipstick tube into the gromet otherwise it will never slide in. That was the hardest part.

Contact Rossler, I spoke with him a few days back and he aparently has a dipstick that has a quick disconnect fitting on the trans end and it bolts to the firewall.
Either that or get ahold of madman.
