should the inside of a stall clunk around?

Default should the inside of a stall clunk around?

i bought a used midwest 3200 2.0 steel stator and when i wiggle the converter the inside clunks around inside...

the inside where the input shaft goes inside visibly moves...is this normal or is this thing screwed?

well after looking at it i figure it should move around...i guess once its on the input shaft nothing can move side to side inside...
