Converter Lockup?
Converter Lockup? What all effects converter lockup? I am having a problem getting my converter to lockup or stay locked when cruising on the highway. If it does lockup it will not stay locked for more than a minute or so...also, it will deactivate cruise intermittantly.
Background:
Just finished my forged 346 shortblock.
Absolute Speed Stage II heads
Comp Cams 224/228 .581/.588 112 LSA +4(installed on a 110ICL)
Stock tranny with transgo shift kit
Hughes 3500 stall
Never had any issues with the old setup. It had a smaller cam and warmed over stock heads.

I have been slowly tuning with ATAP and LS1 edit and I seem to have everything worked out except the converter issue.

Your problem could be misfire related. I had this problem when I changed to a bigger aftermarket cam than the one I previously had. I just adjusted the mid rpm range max allowed misfires to thier maximum value and the problem went away. I don't run a thermostat in the summer, and when the weather starts to get too cold out I get lockup problems. Converter won't stay locked when the engine temperature isn't high enough.
