Default Help with auto trans ID!

I was told this is a 4l60e but have become confused by differing pictures on ebay etc. This is a two piece tranny with a bellhousing piece. Number on the starter bulge is 24206952. Number cast in main case just above the shifter mount is 24207965. Number stamped verticle above this is 23 0723 0256. Tailshaft housing has 6 mounting bolts. Cast in number on it is 24208015-6. There is a black stenciled number behind the shifter cable bracket 3072K.

Is this a 4l60e, 4l65e or 4l80e?
Thanks for any help!!!

Most of the numbers you have listed as casting numbers are not part numbers they are production numbers. Meaning this is what GM used when they casted the pieces to id them. It does sound like a 98 and later 4l60e but hard to tell what is on the inside of the unit. I contact the seller to see what it is supposed to be and go from there. Vince

old thread I found during a a search, I have the same tranny myself, or at least the 24207965 casting on the main body....I was told it was a 1999 astrovan (I think)

Anyone care to direct me to a place where I can verify this? Also would it bolt to a 2004 Vortec without any mounting issues?
