extended crank and what trans

extended crank and what trans So i picked up a 4.8l ls and didn't notice it had the longer crank out the rear, thought it was just the 6.0l that came with 4l80's. So from my research and understanding the converter on the 4l80s is like the old sbc/bbc, w th350,th400 ect... The longer ls cranks require a flat flexplate and maybe a spacer. The same spacer is available to put on a standard ls crank to make a th350/th400 ect.. work w the curved flexplate.
If and what is needed to be able to use the motor and not let it go to wast but not invest much into it?

You can use the a 4l80 or 700r4. The4l60 will work with an old style convter.
