gap between torque converter pad and flexplate is .317 help
the gap is almost 2 times larger then what it should be .317 what type of washers should i use and how many? i think the max this should be is .187 from the mounting the pad of the converter and the mounting pad of the flexplate.

i went to autozone and got longer bolts for the converter. i got 20mm long and 30 mm just to be safe. the 20 mm look like theyll do as stock ones are 16mm. can anyone help me and tell me if putting 2 washers is safe. putting 2 washers will bring down to .175 and this is about 3/16 little smaller then 3/16 but its tolerable.

4l65e tranny. has about 300 miles on it. performa built, bellhousing is used. yank ss3600 converter(rebuilt) by yank.. cat flexplate (new). the new bolts i got 20 mm are only 4 mm longer then the 16mm that arp sells. which is about the length of the 2 washers that i need to use. im basically threading in what i would have originally threaded in if i didnt need washers. with these 2 washers that i put on. i can barely fit a 3/16 drill bit. so my clearances are right now with the 2 washers. i just want to see if anyone has any opinions on this.l i called performabuilt and frank say use what i need to get to 3/16, which i did! but to me its kind of iffy. the new bolts i got are class 10.9 so they are plenty strong? i just need someone to chime in.
