Default transmission trouble
well i have a 4l65e fully built i recently replaced my stall from a 3400 to a cirlce d 3800 4c i drove it for a couple days after install with no problems i took a 400 mile trip with no problem on my way back problems started.........
1st. temperature raised from 160 to 210
2nd would not shift into 3rd
3rd rpms would reach 6000rpm and still no shift
4th speed will not go over 45mph

what could be the problem?

Did your Service Engine Soon light come on? Did the trans stick in 2nd gear (limp mode)? Did you immediately stop the vehicle as not to hurt the trans? You will need to get a scanner and see what is going on. Try to get more info, what vehicle is this in, codes, etc. You may have needed to make some small adjustments when you raised the stall speed, but I don't feel this was the problem.

if your SES light is on, as was stated before, you have set limp mode. Check for codes with that new torque converter.

did you check the fluid levels (engine, trans) it could be a safety sensor restricting it.

AFAIK there is no "safety sensor" on the 4L60E. Apart from checking the fluid, the only way you would know the fluid level is that low would be if the tranny fails completely.

No SES light came on and yes I did stopped ASAP and had it towed I think it is in 2nd gear I will have it scan soon and this is a 2004 silverado 5.3L and I was on my way to re-tune for the stall change when it happend
