V6 4L60e work on V8
Hi,
I'm trying to find a 97-2004 4L60e to put on my 2004 5.3 V8 and I had a guy on craigslist said he had one.
But he said is was from a 2002 Blazer 2wd and the engine was a 3800 ?? I thought the Blazer was based on the S10 platforms and came with a 2.2 4cyl or a 4.3 V6
I have a 2000 s10 with a 2.2 4L60e and I know it won't work, but I thought the 3800 was found on FWD cars like the grand prix we used to own.
Either way, if it is a 4L60e from a 2002 S10 6 cylinder will it work on my 5.3 ?
I know the older 700r4 will bolt straight up to the 4.3 or SBC because the engines were essentially the same minus 2 cyl on the V6. Then you get into power handling issues if 4.3 tranny was bolted to a more powerful sbc.
Thanks!

I did some googling, if this guy's blazer is a 2002 it should have the 4.2 I6
Some of the quick searches I found said it would bolt to the 4L60e....could someone verify this?
Also if it does are the transmssions the same internally? I didn't want to get it bolted up and took a dump under the stock 5.3 engine.
This will be a retrofit into a 76 camaro BTW
