Default LSX swap, but which trans?

I'm building a '95 RCSB GMC Sierra with an LQ9. When I bought the LQ9, it came with a 4L65E (and transfer case). But couple weeks before that I bought a 4L80e (not knowing my motor would come with a trans.)

The truck right now is setup with a 305/700r4 combo. I know the 80e is stronger, but would the entire swap process be easier just pulling the transfercase off the 65e and putting a tailshaft on (if that's possible). Or should I just go ahead and rewire, and program the PCM for the 80e and use that? Would I have to move the cross member if I kept the 65e? Pretty sure I will with the 80e.

Depends on what your RWHP goals are. Less than 600, stay with the 65E. Over that 80E. Some have gotten more out of the 65E, but since you are a heavy truck, that's going to put more stress on it.
