well got it all in tonight. Had to remove the spacer off the crank so the starter will work (off a ls1 car). Bolted up the starter, removed the spacer off the crank and bolted the FP with my ARP bolts....done. Put the snout spacer on the crank and installed everything. TC has about 3/16 gap to the FP with no other washers needed. ALSO used a O.G. th350/gen1 350 converter, not a special lsx style converter. So the drama is now over!!!!

about a 3/16 gap?
it doesnt need to be anymore for a 3 spd transmission. it can damage the transmission if you pull the converter too far out of the pump.
i use a drill bit as a guage. works like a champ for an accurate measurement.
if you use washers, make sure they are grade 8.

used a 3/16 drill bit to measure and its not even that much of a gap, its like a 2/16 gap so im more then fine. Just need to get longer bolts to bolt it to the flywheel and im golden.

i had to get longer converter bolts, hardware store had them with the wide flange that fit in the recess of the flywheel, 10.9 hardness
