Default Shift Extention Question

I'm running a 32-3400 VIG convertor now and I'm either going to send it back and have it restalled or buy a new convertor and sell the one I got. I read that a higher stalled convertor is going to have a higher shift extention. Is this true with all convertors? Do all convertors with the same stall speed have the same shift extentions? I know that the 3400 Vig I've got will stall almost to 4,000 on takeoff, but drops too many rpms between gears. Rear gear ratio seems to be a factor. The same car with a 2.73 rear will stall higher than a 3.73 rear. Anybody running a 42-4400 Vig on here that can give me some feedback. I'm never planning on spraying and like to do this while its winter. I did alot of searching but most of the links in the older posts aren't good anymore.

Yeah, knowing some measurements would help. My Vig 3600 drops about 600 to 800 rpms between shifts. Not sure if that's normal but it's MILES better than stock.

Default stall

yes the gears play a roll... less gear= more stall more gear = less stall alot of people like to see 600-800.... if its to much... might need to hold the gear a little longer..........

Andre at Edge spec'd it out to be about 2.2 to 2.3 I believe. It was the Street Edge model.
