I am pretty sure they are tranny related judging by the brands on the products but what do they do?

adjustable vacuum modulators? adjust pressure based on throttle input to give a hard shift under low vacuum (wot) situations.

Those are transbrake solenoids for a th350 or th400

Yep that must be it. I had tons of stuff stored in my buds garage years ago and these must of some how gotten in my boxes. He had a Transbraked TH350/350cid Nova so that would make sense...and still does except now its glide/477cid big block...very fun car to ride in Is there a way to tell if they work or not? He removed to transbrake because it kept breaking th350s with a really weak 350.

Just hook one wire to + and one to - on a battery for a second or two and the plunger should slam shut if it is good.Polarity does not make a difference on the wires.
