Default HP loss between th400 and 4l60e?

Will there be much loss or gains going from a 4l60e to the th400. I know how the th400 compares to a th350 but don't know how it compares to the 4l60e. Also, are weight differences great? Thanks!

I don't know the exact % of loss there is, but most see some. I don't have any before dyno numbers w/ the 4L60 with my current setup. With my bolt on car, a 12 bolt and 3.55's in the rear, and a 3600 converter my car made a best of 321 RWHP and 438 RWTQ. The torque number is a spike of course b/c of the converter. Hope this helps.....

i would think it would rob anymore then the stock tranny hp wise. but internal gearing is what the big difference is. i seen i guy go from high 114 traps to 112 traps from m6 to turbo 400 swap. hp wasn't measure from before so i could give you any dyno numbers.

Depends on the transmission. ATI has some lightened TH400's which have a lower weight rotating mass- these would have less horsepower loss than say the 1970 TH400 sitting in my garage...haha

One nice thing though is the 1-2 shift won't loose you as many Revs...

TTT
a converter with a good shift extension lessens the revs lost from 1-2
