I do not know exactly but I do know that I would get it out and change the filter. I did that once and the tran. did not shift right.

The feel of the shifts will probably change, maybe reduced transmission life.

While on the subject, what is the preferred brand of transmission oil and filter for the 4L60E?

I changed my fluid out for the generic VatoZone ATF fluid. . . . . I can not call it the "preffered" fluid but it seems to be doing well. Shifts real nice and solid and clutch packs seem to be not getting eaten up. Fluid looks real clean after about 20k. . . .
