Default 4l60e trans removal HELP!!! Please guys !

Were having problem with the 2 top bellhousing bolt .... Problem is we cant get to them .. I've done plenty of trans swaps and have never had this problem ... Everything is disassembled as far as I can tell but the damn tailshaft of the trans wont drop to get the long extension to the bolts ... Any suggestion !!! Any good help would benefit guys thanks !!!

it is the exhaust i ran in to that prob with my z28 all u have to do is remove y pipe and it will bring it down enoph to get the pass side bolt but u will need to put some more presure on the tail shaft pushing to the pass side to get the driver side. goodluck

I had the same problem, I eventually just took the engine and trans out while they were connected. Those top bolts are nearly impossible.

Pull the intake and get them from the top, I was lazy one day and my intake was off, but i have a th400

I'm sure you got it by now.
Use a 2-3 foot long extension with a swivel socket on the end of it. Mine would only drop a little even with the y-pipe off because the passenger header hit the crossmember by the lower a-arm. Mine was on a lift, would have sucked severely on jackstands, lol.
