No 4th after breaking rear......???

No 4th after breaking rear......??? Need suggestions on what the problem might be, long story short I sheard the ring and pinion about 2 weeks ago on the street while doing a 1st gear burnout. The engine was probably turning 4k rpm when the break happened and it was brutal.
Put a new rear in the car last weekend (went from 3.42 to 3.73) and it wont go into 4th gear at all now. 3rd is fine, however, when it tries to shift into 4th it feels like it is just stuck between the gears so I quickly pull it down into 3rd. Even tried to command it in hptuners scanner to shift and it does the same thing, it even shows it being in 4th in the scanner but nothings there. I had my tuner check the trans tables to make sure nothing was overlooked when I adj. for the new gear and he made some changes but it does the same thing.
Any idea what the problem could be? I've been told it could be a cracked drum...
