Tranny cooler Question????
Tranny cooler Question???? I just bought a tranny cooler and was doing some research and seen guys where bypassing the radiator cooler.Want to know which is better bypassing or not bypassing...Even though bypassing the radiator cooler seems alot easier than not......THANKS
Some recommend bypassing the stock radiator/cooler, as during the warmer summer months the hot coolant temps will excessively heat the trans fluids as well.
Personally, I've always heard that running the aftermarket cooler in conjunction with the stock cooler can provide up to 30% more cooling. This is what I'm doing.

This is what I was told:
If you plan on driving it in the cold (parked outside in the cold overnight or throughout the day), then run both the stock and the aftermarket cooler in series. The stock cooler will help heat up the fluid faster.
If you do not plan on driving it in the cold, then the aftermarket cooler alone will have cooler temps because the stock cooler will have the hot engine coolant preventing the heat to dissipate from the transmission fluid.
Like I said, this is just what has been told to me by several people. I plan on running just the aftermarket cooler and capping off the stock one.

its up to you i always suggest a small fan and big cooler i do live in Florida as well but running through the radiator first then a cooler will provide almost 40% more cooling some say its over kill but when its hot and back to back racing all can help in my book
