Default 4l80 in a 2010 camaro a6?

i am wondering what all is going to be involved in swapping a 4l80 into a 2010 camaro a6. I know a few of the g8 guys have made this swap but has anyone done this with a 2010 camaro?


any help will be appreciated

why?
the 6l80e is a hoss dude its supposed to be stronger than an 4l80 maybe less availible parts but i dont see the advantage?

Why not have more gears, be able to run a numerically lower rear, and get hella MPG's

Have you ever driven a vehicle with a 6L80? It doesn't lend itself to performance use.

It's not stronger.

yup sure have drivin them im a tech at a gm dealer they take off like bat from hell with that 4 to 1 first gear and there alot bigger than a 4l80e i dont see what makes them weaker?

Look up "synchronous shifting" and then you'll understand why they are weaker and shift like a dump truck.

The Corvette guys are doing this but are also going back to the 4l70-E trans with all the updates as they can not get the 6l80 to live long under high hosepower.

We are running a lsx 454 with two 150 stages of gas..................thats why the 6l80 wont work. It is blowing through all the shifts because the trans can't shift fast enough. The tuning for the 6l80 isnt here yet.

I don't think the tuning will ever be there.

There are some advancements on tuning and trans durability in the works. It is a new trans still, but it will eventually hold the power you have. The upgrades may not come fast enough for you though. So tough decision, I know.
