Question T56 to TH400 conversion

Im going to be doing this before too long, probably after I get my bigger cam in. I was just wondering if anyone on here has done this, and could tell me how hard it will be or what all is involved. Ive got a turbo400 that Im going to have built with a shift kit and about a 3600 stall since I'm probably going to be hitting it with 150 shot. Will my driveshaft fit? Will the TH400 just bolt right up? Thanks guys

think the bell housing is different, not sure about the ds. know you have to run tranny cooler, but im sure you know that. and you have the right console. im fixing to do the same thing so im curious to find out. oh yea the trans mout is different. you can buy it from thunder. some have modified the stock mount.

Yes the TH400 will bolt right up to the LS1, but you will only use 5 bolts. You will need a TH400 yoke on the driveshaft and will more than likely need a longer driveshaft also. I had to get a custom one made, but I don't know if it varies by the tailshaft on the tranny. You'll also need a dipstick, shifter, and a crossmember for the torque arm to mount to. I highly recommend the Yank TH-400 crossmember. It is very durable and fits nicely. I had to notch mine a little but no biggie. Hope that covers everything. Good Luck.....
