Default A4 Trans issues please help

I have a 1994 lt1 camaro with an automatic trans. While I was driving today it wouldnt shift into second so I let go of the gas and then pressed it again and it shifted . Is this a mechanical issue or an electronic issue. Now I just parked it so I wouldnt mess anything up.Could it be a bad tps? Please help me with anything you might know or have had a similar experience.THANKS for reading

Hey bro it sounds to me like your tranny might be overheating. Check your transmission fluid and make sure you have enough in there. Was the temperature outside hot? Any Humidity? I had the same thing happen to me last summer when it was over 80* just crusing for a while in town and my transmission wouldnt shift into 3rd even if i let off the gas. One of the bad things about our transmissions is they get hot really easy and after a long time they start to fail. I would say drain the tranny fluid and go to autozone or whatever and buy a new transmission filter and add some fresh fluid in there then drive it around. If it slips again then try shifting it manually and see if it goes into gear. I have a feeling yours is doing what mine is its getting to hot and im pretty sure the weather is being the cause of that. I bought me a b&m tranny cooler that i still have to install. That would be my advice to you is buy a tranny cooler and maybe one of those deep tranny fluid pans that lets you add 3 or 4 extra qts that would help your transmission run cooler. There is a chance it is something electrical but ur car being a 94' its probobly your transmission gettin too hot.

BTW i replaced my transmission speed sensor because i thought maybe it was bad since sometimes my RPM gauge would start bouncing around all stupid and then my tranny would slip bad. Well the day i installed the new TSS the car started acting all funny and tranny started slipping. After about a day it stopped and it never did it again. This was around the fall time so the weather wasnt as bad. Its going to be in the 90's here in good ole kansas this weekend and i am going to drive my car around and see if it slips. If it does the cooler is going in.
