Do any of you guys regret converting your car to an A4. I plan on going to a fully built 4l60e with a 4k converter. What ballpark Et can I expect with a 3400 lb. 380 rwhp LS1 on et streets?

Whoa deep 11's! I was hoping for 11.99999. Im making 392 rwhp now, how much horse should I expect to lose after installing the 9" and auto? I was hoping to end up at 375-380 rwhp. The conversion is going to cost about $2500 more but it sounds like it will be worth it.

Also, after doing some research, 4l60e's look like they are nothing but trouble. Should I go straight to a 4l80e even if top out at only 400rwhp? How much more does a 4l80e cost? Sorry for all the questions.

Switch to a 4l80 for 400hp? No way, big waste of money and effort IMO. Those are big heavy trans' that arent designed to go in our cars in the first place. The right person/company can build a 60 to hold good hp for a long time.

I would never put a dime in a 4l60e unless my kids lives were in the mix somehow. I wouldnt put one in if it was free......
I wouldnt even buy a car with a 4l60e without budgeting for a trans swap up front.
th400, and 4l80e......my last 4l80e was alittle over 4k...but if you have to have od....otherwise the th400.....at about 2000.
