Default Shifting out of Park

Recently I have been experiencing issues getting the button pressed on my TA handle to get the shifter out of Park. It acts exactly like I am not pressing the brake hard enough or even at all; no matter how hard I press the brake pedal.

Has anyone experienced the same thing? Any easy fixes that anyone can think of? Shifter ****/button? Actual shifter? Trans?

I thought maybe the safety mechanism was boned, but I have touched nothing on the trans since my converter install 2.5 years ago.

Any thoughts??

Mine has done that in cold weather. I think if the switch on the brake pedal is adjusted tight it may release a little slower in the cold.

where is the switch on the brake pedal? Can it be manually adjusted? Anyone have a helms manual they can scan or something?

There is a cover under the dash , over the brake pedal. It's held on by two plastic snaps(or whatever they're called) and a metal clip. You will the see the switches underneath. There are brake light and gear selector safety switches. I tried to unclip one and the middle plastic clip snapped so I gave up.
