Don't really know if this should be in trans or PCM section. I want to put a 4l80e trans into a 98 transam and I read I need a 99 or newer PCM. I can get a hold of a 99 PCM out of a 5.7 chevy truck. Are they the same as a 99 firebird/camaro PCM? If so what would it take to have it work with my firebird? Also read that my fuel gauge wouldn't work with a 99 PCM bow would I get that to work?

 

A 98 PCM will control a 4L80. PM me.

It will work if its a 12200411 PCM. You need to completely re-pin the harness. Fuel gauge will work if you get a fuel system segment swap (EFIlLive guys can do it).

 

Cool thanks. Picked up a 02 PCM from a s10 pickup that was automatic so I should be good to go after some programming
