how can i tell if my transmission has been "built" i bought a turbo car and he said the tranny was built but is their something i can tell the difference if it is just stock or built . it is out of the car and i have never driven it . it came with a bad motor .

most aftermarket "built" transmissions are painted and have a deep pan with an aftermarket cooler....plus billet servos and stickers are a good way to tell
