700r4 instead of a 4l60e wtf!

ok so apparently my 94' z has a 93'lt1 with a 700r4, how does the 700r4 compare to the 4l60e that i thought i had?

all 93s had 700r........did not get 4l60e til 94

4L60e is controlled by your computer and the 700R4 is not.
