need help choosing stall size and brand
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...lq4-4l80e.html
lq4, headers, "off road" y-pipe, 3 1/2" exhaust, electric fans, tune, ...maybe 375hp/400ft/lbs..
truck weighs 3640 with me in it (3500 w/o)
has 12 bolt with 3.73's and 26" tire.
truck went 13.20 with the stock torque converter and 3.42's. with a 1.98 60'.
id like to get it to 12.7XX's with the new rear with 3.73's and a converter. i think the truck makes the power to do it(went 105.86mph) just need to choose the right converter, i was hoping to stay under 3200rpms... its driven about 400-500 miles per week....
for what its worth i do have a large(like 10x18") permacool trans cooler under the bed witha 1250cfm fan on it, thermostat controlled... right now the fan barely ever runs.(comes on at 180, and shuts off at 165..)
any advice on stall rpm for this combo and also brand would be helpful. thank you, Keith.
I love my FTI 3600. And you will get the same kind of responce from
most people about their convertors and manufactures.
i guess im not looking at manufacturer as much as i am stall speed. which i guess maybe i still need to talk to someone who builds them.
thanks though,
keith
i hope this things runs a good bit better with the 3.73's, and 3600 stall.
my goal is to be as close to 11.50 as possible on hopefully no bigger than a 150 shot... i dont really care to go any faster in this vehicle, i dont wanna cage in it, and it should be good enough to make people look twice.
