props to FTI Converters They built a great converter! After months of having the new setup (built th400, FTi SST-89-0) I finally got to the track and got some passes in. I got a new best over my 4L60E/Yank SS4000 setup. I wasnt expecting to get a new best out of the deal considering I was losing the big short first gear of the 4L60E with the tall 2.36 first of the th400. I have a transbrake with the th400 and was very light on the stalling because I have old worn out drag radials, but I netted a 60' within 0.02 of my all time best. I launch WOT spraying out the hole and the converter has worked perfectly. My mph is right on with the old setup in the 1/4, but I picked up over 2mph just in the 8th alone. I know this converter will really shine with a bigger hit (spraying 175 now) but I wont spray any more on this stock bottom end. Greg recommended me get the 4600 but I chickened out and went with a little smaller. I wish I had listened to him! He knows his stuff.
I cant wait to see what It will do with new tires in cooler weather.
