Well i think it all depends on the tranny and how you treat it. Mine went out with 33,000 miles on the car and all i had was a lid and cutout. Make sure you get a tranny cooler with the converter. Heat is what kills the tranny. By the way your going to love the TCI3500. Goodluck.

my tranny blew the first time i took it to the track with 28k miles. actually blew getting on the highway leaving IHOP, but either way 3rd and 4th went buh bye. only mods on the car at the time were an FIPK and exhaust. the SSF 3500 makes the car SO much more fun to drive though, get a big cooler (24k) and dont worry about it.

I really dont think it will shorten the life of your tranny. Run a cooler and dont run the **** out of it and you will be fine. If you beat on your car alot, then the added TQ will have its effects over time. Getting on it 3-4 times a week is normal.
