Default Dexron VI is expensive stuff!

Flushing the transmission in my truck and wifes car (50-60k) I'm thinking its like $40 a case, bill was $240 for 2 12qt cases. I was shocked at this crap being $10 a bottle.

I'm still gonna use the old stuff in the TA for sure!

For that price, you can get the really good stuff that you won't find on the shelf, but exceeds Dex 6 specs by a good bit.

I just dropped about $2k on a trans and I can't see buying cheap trans fluid to save a few $$$. I won't buy Walmart brand fluids.

My wife's HHR supposedly has a expectation of over 100k Mile interval between fluid flush. IMO that sucker is getting done in 3 years or the 50k mark whatever hits first.

FWIW, they say the Walmart Supertech Dex VI is made with the exact same chemical package as the other store brands, they also say only one company makes the chemical package for DEX VI, FWIW, YMMV as found on B.I.T.O.G. forum.

(I run it too)

with the "universal" dex/merc stuff you can get some varying quality/consistancy/performance because the dex III is no longer "supported" by gm. dex VI has an additive package specified by GM, and there shouldnt be much variation between brands. i also have read the above about the dex VI package only being made by one company, the stuff on the shelves either has it or it doesn't. regardless, i think 3-5 bucks a quart is CHEAP for a synthetic atf.
