Default what brand aftermarket 4l60 to go with?

ok im posting this for a friend. he has a 02 z28 h/c/i 3.73s made 430whp on motor and has a 100shot setup on it also. he killed his first stock 4l60 back in may while racing a 03 cobra and has had the car parked all summer and is desprately wanting it back together so i offered to do the labor for him if he buys a transmission. im not 100% sure on what brand converter the car has im thinking its a PI converter and around 3000stall he would like to reuse it so it will need to be cleaned and ive told him that. ive looked around some at some companys that sell "built" 4l60e transmissions but am not sure what ones are the better quality. he does not race the car at the track its strictly a street car but he plays alot on the hwy. he said he would like to budget himself at 3k. so guys tell be what company makes the better 4l60 trans that will hold 500whp fairly well? thanks in advance.

Sounds like either a PB level 2 or a FLT 4, there are about a billion topics discussing it just do a search. Seems like you can't go wrong with either, speaking for myself I'll be going with a PB in a few weeks. Both companies have their legion of cheerleaders and I'm sure they all have valid points.
