Question TH350 Fitting question!

Is it safe to run 1/4" NPT to 3/8" Hose Barb fittings straight out of the transmission(inlet/outlet) with some 3/8" Transmission cooler line? Im gonna use two hose clamps but want to make sure the pressure is not to high to the point they will blow off.

Thanks
Travis

I've done it several times. If you use the right hose, the right size fittings and clamps it won't blow off or even leak.

no its not. first off the case takes a 1/4" NON-TAPERED pipe thread. a standard npt fitting can and will crack the trans case. i dont know what your application is, but the LAST thing you want is your rear tires covered in trans fluid. i did my trans coolers with pushloc style hose which is super easy to work with. i still dont believe it's nhra legal but its rated to 200psi and something like 400 degrees.
