Does the lokar dipstick pass nhra tech for a locking dipstick? Has anyone had issues with these blowing out?

Mine Lokar passed tech but to be honest i'm not sure if they even looked at it. I now run the Madman dipstick and it is the locking type, and it's way better for filling. The Lokar one was a royal pain in the ***.

MAdman. DO you make one for the 4l80e that is easier to read than the Lokar? Plus the lockar gets very hot and its a pain to check once the engine warms up.

it comes up at the back of the passenger side head, below the window cowl. It should work fine with your set-up.

I will get you a pic tomorrow. Basically it mounts onto the bellhousing 2nd bolt up from the bottom. The dipstick angles up right over the passengerside valve cover just a little to the outside. I would bet that it will clear any intake manifold, it's nowhere near the intake. I use a real long funnel to fill it, and it works like a charm. It has the locking style cap that will pass tech inspection. I swapped converters over the weekend and I had it out of the way. I pretty much had the transmission right onto the dowels and I forgot about puttin in the dipstick. I figured I was going to have to lower the transmission down to get it on but it snaked it's way right down the tranny tunnel and into place. Keep in mind I don't have a/c or a heater though so that makes it easy for me.
