Default Only 2nd gear works.

I've had so many damn problems with this transmission, but anyways....

I only have 2nd gear and I have searched and searched. I've seen people who say they lost 2nd gear, but haven't see this issue in this forum yet, and i'm usually in here a lot.

Stuck valve or servo, what could cause this?

Thx

Whats it do in Park, Reverse, Neutral, OD, D, 1st?
Free rev or bog down?
Was it tuned for the 4000 converter?

I'm learning this stuff too, but from what I seem to remember, if one of the shift solenoid goes bad, you'd at least be forced to start in 2nd.

That would be third. Both solenoids are off in third.

Limp mod would be starts in 3rd in d or od positions ans starts in second in 2nd or manual first positions, Except in the case of the transgo hd2 having been installed in which case there would be a bind up braking effect in manual low 1

Park and reverse worked fine. No matter if I chose OD, D, 2, or 1 it would only be in 2nd gear.

I took it out again today and everything works perfect and the converter locks up, everything works.

I am confused, I am wondering if something is about to break.

So...was it tuned for that 4000 rpm converter you have?
Sounds to me like it's starting off in third because it's not tuned right for the converter.
This problem will come and go erratically each time you drive it.

It was tuned a few months ago for the cam. Have never seen this issue before and it drove fine all day today.
