Default Have a 4L60E question

for a 4L60E, that's had a fresh rebuild (unsure on mileage) with no issues arising.

shifts great, fluid looks and smells great.

my big question is, on a turbo app... stock LS1 in front of it, stock converter also, with a small 66mm

is there anything I can do to preserve the trans and keep it from burning up a trans.

car makes ~400 on 5psi.. not planning on turning it up for a long time or doing anything becides driving the car.

Thanks,
Andrew

it has a stock pan on it. and dont know for sure when it was gone through.. or whats inside. I was told that it's a stock rebuild, when the car was tuned the tuner definatley went and changed the trans tables.

Heat is the mortal enemy of all automatic transmissions. The best thing you can do to make it last as long as possible is use a really nice bar and plate style cooler. The largest one you can fit without causing any packaging issues. I deep pan will definitely help by increasing fluid capacity.

The stock LS1 torque converter is very hard on the gear train with more horsepower. They are big and very heavy. A good 9.5" lockup will take about 30 - 35 pounds off the back of the crankshaft here, which will give you a longer transmission life, besides much added performance. The "modified" version of the TransGo Performance Shift kit will help here too.
