Default Neutral Saftety Switch problem (A4 to TH350)

I already searched and didn't seem to find anything that worked.

I just recently went from an automatic to a th 350 in my 2000 Z28. Everything is hooked up and ready go but the damn car wont start. I'm thinking it had something to do with the Neutral safety switch. I sold my stock shifter and left the male plug for the wires on there.

My question:
I have a black/white, orange/black, brown, light green, purple/white, and dark green wires. I know that the brown and light green wires are for reverse, but how do i wire the other 4 to start the car? Any help would be appreiciated.

Thanks
Jeff

Somebody else here probably knows which wires are for the neutral safety switch (I don't have my manuals handy), but all you will need to do is make a jumper wire, and jump the two wires for the switch.

It's actually one way to do a easy security upgrade

The orange and black wire needs to be grounded for the car to start. The black/white wire is a ground so you can just hook those two wires up to the switch.

Damn, still didn't work. Not sure what the problem is. I cut both the orange/black and black/white wires off the female connector and plugged them into each other and still no start. Could it be that I dont have the other side of the plug (male)?

That sucks Jeff to bad I'm not on that side of town man, I would have brought my Trans Am over and you could borrow that plug that you sold to see if it gets your car started.

You ask Joe? IM him tomorow when hes at "work"

Yea, Joe doesn't know either. No one can seem to figure this out. Not even Grimal. I'm stumped.

I'll look later today, when I get to the car. I had to do the same thing, I just jumped the 2 sides. Putting a switch there would be bad *** for security. Then the only ones I would have to worry about, are those who are reading this post. LOL

So you were in the same boat as me huh? Looks like I have no choice but to find a damn module. Anybody know of any junk yards in the houston area that would have something like this?

Got it fixed. I'll post what happened in case someone has the same problem and searches.

Brains was right. It was a blown fuse. It was actually the PCM BAT fuse. Weird...huh?

I replaced the fuse, then connected the green wire, with the purple/white wire. Started right up. Thanks Brian, and everyone else for the help.

Sorry I gave you the wrong info, I just looked in the trans section and the section of the park/neutral switch I looked at was for the shft interlock thing. The other section of the p/n switch for the starter is in the engine electrcal section - I sure miss paper service manuals..

Glad you got it going - I'll put this pic on here for reference also..
