Default yank SS 3800 on stock

Hey guys,
I need a little help. I want a ss3800. The only thing I'm worried about is my rear end. My car is mostly stock. Is this converter going to break my rear end? And say it did, would it void my warenty? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I think your rear end will hold up fine.

You should also consider the TCI SSF3500 converter as well as the Precision Industries Vigilante 3200 both of which are available from our sponsors.
Both are good converters with good street manors and great performance. And just as important, both companies have good customer service and they stand behind their warranty.

Good Luck

John

Thanks, one more thing. Will a set of sticky tires be a good thing or will I need to get a 12 bolt or something to hold up to a high stall converter/sticky tires combo?

From what most have said about the ss3800 it does very well on the street for a 3800 stall speed......As far as warranty it will prolly void the tranny and any thing behind it and i'm shure they will find a reason to void the engine warranty if something goes wrong there.....so I guess it's up to you, that is the main reason I have hit the wall with "dealer friendly mods" so i'm stuck where I am for mods until the warranty BS is over!!

Yea Your Warrenty For Most Of The Car Will Be Void If Ya Think About It ( If Ya Need An Example Just Ask) Your Gonna Need A Load Of Sus Upgrades (most Of Whats In My Sig) It Will Not Even Come Close To Hooking Without Them All And Some Fat Boy Nittos I Know This Beacouse Thats My Next Mod .... Ive Asked Alot Of Reputable Folks About This Question And Your Rear End Wont Last Forever See With That Type Of Shock To Your Rear Something Gonna Give In Stock Trim Your Tires Will But When You Get Tired Of Wasteing Your Rubber Youll Have To Mod The Whole Rear Sus And Get Good Rubber Which Will Cause It To Hook But The Next Week Link Will Be The Rear Most Have Told Me That If Your Tracking It You Should Get A Season Out Of It Hell Withoutthe Suspension Mods Id Bet It Will Go Even Quicker Due To The Banging Arround Your Rears Gonna Do, But All This Will Ost Likely Happen With Any Converter If I Were You Id Spend Your Money On Sus Mods First Then Go Into The Tranny And Just Concider Your Warrenty Gone Beacouse At Most Dealers Thell Easily Find A Way To Void Jst About Ally Warrentys Except Mabye Youe Electrical System & Interrior Compodents

I have the SS 3800,love it,it takes a couple days to get used to,but it behaves very well on the street. You will not hook even with Nittos i cant hook untill third. If your worried about your rearend, buy a TA girdle and stud kit for the extra protection.I sprayed out of the hole on ET streets before my cam and convertor and mine is fine.Well see..

i pulled a 1.69 60 ft on 17" nittos at the track the other day with my PT4400...and this was only the 2nd trip to the track with this converter. The SS3800 will hook fine on nittos.
