stuck in 3rd
My 4l65e is stuck in 3rd. Reverse works fine. Also, I still have converter lock up. I was driving home stopped at the toll booth and went to take off and it was stuck in 3rd, put it in low 1 and it was like I had a tranny brake on. I got it moving and tranny temps went up and it is stuck in 3rd. Fluid level is good. This tranny has about 12000 miles on it with a trans go hd2 and all the other upgrades in it. Servos, wide band new drum beast shell. Any help would be great.

You left out one very important piece of information.
Is it tuned for the converter?
If P0751 and P0757 are reporting, theres a good chance thats your problem.

With the HD-2 kit if your computer has put your trans in a limp mode condition it will bind in manual low. This is because you are in third gear and then by placing the shifter in manual low the low/reverse clutch comes on. This has the effect of a very poor trans brake and can and will damage a transmission. Lets up you did not do any damage at this point. As Jay mention the two solenoid codes are the most common issue and a tune will fix this issue. Vince

Well..... After testing for power at the transmission which I had, I pulled the tranny out. Reverse started to feel like it was dragging and It seemed to want to drive in neutral so I'll rip it apart this weekend!!!

ok, so what if i have the same problem, but its a 700. i ordered a 700 2-3 reprograming kit and a new valvebody, hopefully that will fix it, but what is actually causing it? just a different combination of valves sticking?
