Default 2001 4l60e IS THIS POSSIBLE

is there any way to disable the shifting solenoids that run the 1st and 4th shifting i want to sit my car up to leave the starting line in 2nd and shift into 3rd by the finishline 1/8 mile....thats all i do is bracket race the car 3600 convertor looking to benefit on a marginal track with no tire spin but still have all my mph

thought maybe you could put a toggle in the circuit and mount it under the hood and activate it when i get to the track then flip it back for the drive home any ideas what wires etc? the car runs 7.60s at 90ish with 1.60 60ft my goal is 8.20s at 90ish with a slow 60 ft

if i do that it will stay in 2nd. if the solenoids wont activate i could leave the selector in 3rd and it would start in 2nd and automatically shift to 3rd

Start in second, right after you launch push the shifter to third. This way it'll stay in second even after you moved the shifter but still shift to 3rd at it's normal automatic shift point.

id always heard from a reputable transmission guy in the area that it wont hurt the tranny launching in 2nd if you dont run the car back to back and monitor the trans. temp

I second that..... def think you will be having some major issues very very soon. if you want a slower time dont launch as hard in first.... learn your car and maybe lift a little near the end

I bracket race my car often. Launch the hell out of that thing and cut a good light. Thats all bracket racing is anyways, getting the better light. Then when you take a nose on the guy ease off the gas. Yes, it is that easy.
