Default Anyone with circle d hp 278mm?

I am looking for a stall for my t/a and this one seems like it would be a good option for me. I am trying to get the car down to the 8.0-8.2 range in the eighth consistently (no quarter mile track nearby ) but don't want anything too extreme because it is a daily driver and I want to stay full weight. The car has already surprised me with what it is capable of as is so I plan on adding lt's, true duals, tune, dr's, and stall to chase my goal or better yet exceed it. So is this a good converter or should I look elsewhere? I know there are large differences between the high dollar converters and this one but I am trying to get the most with my budget and am kind of new to the automatic thing. Also, won't this make my tranny **** the bed quicker, because I need it to last until the summer when I can get a built one. Thanks in advance!

The Circle D 278mm converter is a real converter for the $$. We ran one in our RCSB and made that choice for the same reasons you listed. The truck ran 13s with just a few bolt-ons and that converter. It does make a big difference compared to stock.

We ran that converter for 30K miles in the stock tranny and never had a problem. The converter won't kill your tranny, but a trans cooler is always a good idea when installing the converter. High trans fluid temps sure help kill a good transmission.

You will see a bigger difference with that converter than any other type mod besides nitrous. ET improvement per $$ spent is hard to beat with this TC.

I have this converter in my truck currently. It drives like a stock one. I have ~30k miles on it now. I've pulled #3200 racecars behind my truck with, I race it EVERY weekend and just all around beat the crap out of it and it still begs for more. I cut 1.68 60' with it last weekend in my 4600# truck. It's an awesome converter, well worth the money.

Yea I will be getting the same one. I have heard nothing but good things about it. I was wondering how much it would pick up in the 1/4 mile though. How much does it help besides launching harder off the line?

8.0's should be easy! I was running 8.4's @87 with my previous setup with 3.23 gears. Installed a circle d 4c converter and then ran 7.7's at 88mph converter being only change and density altitude within 200 ft. Changed cam and ran a best of 7.39 at 93. for your mods it seems your car runs real strong...

7.7 was with the tr220 cam and the same cnc ls6 heads. im happy with it... i mean its not as fast mod per mod with a lot of cars here but i guess every track is different... At my track its one of the faster street cars so thats all that matters i guess lol..
