Default will this 4l80e work?

have a 4l80e out of a 95 chevy 2wd, i believe it is the HD version, bc its a diesel.

I looked thru the stickies and it states that 91 and up are all the same dimensions, but doesnt say anything about the actual mechanics of them.

just wondered if it would work in a 4th gen f-body. im aware of all the mods that have to be done for the swap. was just wondering if the 95's were electronicly controlled, or manual, ect.

thanks

All 4L80E's are electronically controlled.
External dimensions are the same for all years. If it has a brake on the tail you can take it off and put a 4x2 tail housing on it.
The only other differences are cooler line locations. Nothing that will make it better or worse as far as fitting in an f body.

The factory f body computer can be programmed to control it.

I've never done it but the 4L60E and 4L80E both have pressure control solenoids, shift solenoids, tcc solenoids. The main difference is the external plug is pinned differently. I'm pretty sure the f body transmission wiring plug can be rewired so everything matches. Then reprogram the ecm.

The stock PCM can control the 4L80E. Even the '98 models.

We've developed a method to use 4L60E tune so that you don't even need to do a segment swap on the tune.

There are some codes (ratio error, 3-2 solenoid) that need to be deleted.

'91 to '03 is the same. Pretty sure there the same beyond that. Some minor differences in the case connector around '94, and a wiring plug for the force motor around '04.

I know you can take an '03 trans and put it in a factory equipped 1991 truck after updating the chassis wiring harness.
