I tried driving in D3 today some and it felt great! I want to make SURE that I'm not hurting the stock tranny when driving in D3 and OD on the highway. I always make sure I'm at a complete stop when shifting to D3 so as to not manually downshift the trans. Car has 132,000 miles and I don't want to replace the transmission.
Sorry for bringing this back from the dead, but I'm confused!
Am I hurting anything and will the trans die sooner as a result?

You're not hurting anything by driving in D3.
Drive streets in D3; after you enter the freeway select D4; when you exit the freeway select D3 as you slow down.
You don't have to stop to select between D3 and D4.
